Ryan Butler joined the University of Dayton athletic training staff in July of 2016. He will be the primary athletic trainer for women’s soccer and baseball.
Prior to UD, Butler served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Concord University in Athens, W. Va. from 2014-2016 where he was the primary athletic trainer for women’s volleyball, softball and women’s soccer.
He also served as an athletic trainer for the Dayton Dutch Lions FC professional men’s soccer team in 2014. In addition to assisting the head athletic trainer with all practices, home games, and injury care, Butler also aided Columbus Crew in its supervision of its athletes assigned to Dayton Dutch Lions.
He worked as a student athletic trainer at Wright State University from 2011-2014 where he got clinical experience at Archbishop Alter High School, Beavercreek High School, West Carrollton High School and for the WSU baseball and women’s soccer teams.
Butler earned his bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Wright State University in 2014. He earned a master of arts degree in health promotion, carrying a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA, at Concord University in 2016.
Butler has been a Board Certified Athletic Trainer since 2014. He's also a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association.
