Eric Golz joined the University of Dayton women's soccer staff in March 2011.
Golz, a native of Wadsworth, Ohio, ran all aspects of the Iowa Rush, a semi-professional team in the WPSL, including recruitment, developing training curriculum, fiscal management and management for one season. He spent one season at Clemson before pursuing the head coaching job for the Rush.
Golz was an assistant women's coach at the University of Iowa for three seasons from 2006-2008. He assisted in all facets of the Hawkeye program, including designing, organizing and conducting team training sessions and developing game tactics. Golz served as the team's recruiting coordinator, and brought in the 2009 recruiting class, which was the highest ranked class in program history. He also served as the team's equipment coordinator and camp director.
Prior to his stint at Iowa, Golz was an assistant women's coach at Bowling Green State University, where he also served as the team's recruiting coordinator. During his two seasons at BGSU in 2004 and 2005, the team won two MAC tournament championships and one MAC regular season championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament two consecutive seasons.
Golz has also been very involved with the Olympic Development Program in Region II, serving as a girls' staff coach, and working as an assistant coach with the team as well as training goalkeepers. He has also held the position of staff coach and director of goalkeeping at the Iowa Soccer Club and the Greater Toledo Futbol Club. He was also the assistant coach for the Olympic Development program's 1992 Region II team in 2009.
Golz earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "A" License and has a Level 1 goalkeeping license from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He also earned a USSF National Goalkeeper License in April 2011. Golz graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania in 2002 with a degree in finance and was an all-conference goalkeeper.
