Stefani Workman joined the University of Dayton women's soccer staff in February of 2015.
Workman comes to Dayton after a season as an assistant with the University of Georgia women's soccer program. She led the Bulldogs to NCAA and SEC tournament appearances, and mentored three players to 2014 All-SEC honors. The Bulldogs were also nationally ranked for four weeks during the 2014 season.
Prior to her stint at Georgia, Workman was head coach at NCAA Division II Concord University in Athens, W. Va. from 2010-2014. In her four seasons at Concord, Workman posted an overall record of 34-31-4. She coached her players to a total of 14 all-conference selections, two all-region honors and a WVIAC Student Athlete of the Year.
Workman spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons as the goalkeeper coach at West Virginia and helped the Mountaineers record 26 shutouts, including a single season program record shutouts, while extending their string of consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances to 10 and winning a Big East Divisional title. While with the Mountaineers, she coached two All-Americans, 11 All-Big East players, and one Big East Player of the Year. While at West Virginia, she earned a master's degree in athletic coaching education and taught classes.
Workman spent 2005-07 as the assistant coach at Cincinnati, working extensively with the keepers as well as the defense. Her other duties included on-field training, video coordination, recruiting, team travel, strength and conditioning, academic assistance, and coordinating of community service efforts. During her three seasons with the Bearcats she helped three players earn All-Big East honors and three academic team honors.
Workman was part of the staff of the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Olympic Development program from 2009-2014. She has a USSF "B" license and an NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma, the highest level of education for goalkeeper coaches.
Workman has also trained goalkeepers in the prestigious SoccerPlus Camps and Ohio Youth Soccer League's Metro United squad as the technical trainer.
In her playing career, Workman started all four seasons in goal at Morehead State. As a senior in 2004, she recorded 80 saves, was twice named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week, and helped the Eagles to the OVC Tournament. She earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Morehead State in 2005, graduating with summa cum laude honors. She also attended the NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Conference and was the Champ Life Skills Coordinator for Athlete Activities. While at Morehead, Workman worked extensively with the Kentucky Youth Olympic Development Program. She also spent time at the Region II ODP Development Group in Illinois in 2005, training goalkeepers.
A native of Poca, W.Va., Workman was named the 2000 West Virginia Soccer Coaches goalkeeper of the year. A four-year starter at Poca High, she was named to the all-state team four times, including first-team recognition in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Workman played club soccer for West Virginia United (formerly Soccer Vision Academy) from 1999-2001.
