Biography
2011-2012
McDonald provided valuable depth for the Flyers especially in the relays. She was a member of the 4x400m and the 4x800m relay teams that both finished fourth at the Atlantic 10 Championships. During the outdoor season she also helped the Flyers, especially in the 4x800m relay. She was a member of this relay that placed eighth at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships.
High School
McDonald was a four year varsity member of the track team, spent two years on the varsity cross country team and played one year of varsity volleyball and basketball. She qualified for state in every year of her high school career. In 2008 she qualified in the 400 and as a part of the 4x800 meter relay team. In 2009 she was once again a member of the state qualifying 4x800 meter relay team. In 2010 she qualified in three events (4x800 meter relay, 400m and 4x400 meter relay). In 2011 qualified as a member of the 4x400 meter relay team. She was instrumental in leading her team to a 2011Â SWBLÂ Conference Championship. McDonald was Academic All-Ohio from 2009-2011.Â
Personal
Daughter of Scott and Elizabeth McDonald and has a younger sister Paige. Her father Scott played basketball and baseball at Wittenburg University. McDonald also has strong ties to the Flyers as she had two uncles (Ken and Don May) play basketball for the Flyers. Ken May spent his career playing at UD and then professionally for the Washington Generals. Don May finished his collegiate basketball career at UD and then moved on professionally playing for the New York Knicks, Buffalo Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers and the Kansas City Omaha Kings. She plans to major in education and hopes to one day become an English teacher.
