Tye Stebbins (Zionsville, IN) scored twice, including the game-winner in the 100th minute, as the University of Dayton men's soccer team defeated Wright State, 2-1, Friday night in front of 1,865 fans - one of the largest crowds in men's soccer history -- at the Dayton Marriott Flyer Classic.

Stebbins' second goal of the game came off the rebound of a shot by Nate Darr (Centerville, OH). Goalkeeper Jason Balach got a piece of it, but the ball deflected up into the top left corner to give the Flyers their first win of the season.

After a scoreless first half, Stebbins opened the scoring in the 72nd minute. Dasan Robinson (Elyria, OH) - playing forward as part of a lineup shakeup by head coach Dave Schureck - found Stebbins slicing through the box and the senior midfielder buried for his second goal of the season.

The Flyers controlled most of the second half and after Stebbins' goal bunkered down defensively.

But with 90 seconds remaining, Chris Riley placed a corner kick into a crowd of Raiders and Tony Labudovski headed it past Flyer keeper Matt Troop (Peachtree City, GA) to tie the match.

As the overtime dwindled down, a restart put Darr in the middle for a set piece. The Flyers couldn't connect but Darr wound up with the ball and drilled a shot which Balach saved. The rebound bounded to Stebbins, who from a sharp angle to the left of the goal aimed high and found the back of the net at the 99:25 mark.

The freshman Troop finished with four saves in his first college start. After opening the season 0-3-1, coach Schureck moved Robinson from defender to forward, Darr from defender to midfield, and started a new backline of Devin McKenney (North Olmstead, OH), Richie Campbell (Cincinnati, OH), Dan Hartwig (St. Louis, MO), and Ian Mulligan (St. Louis, MO).

The match was the second of the day at the Dayton Marriott Flyer Classic, as DePaul defeated Evansville, 2-1, in the afternoon. Dayton hosts Evansville on Sunday after the Raiders meet DePaul at noon.
