WASHINGTON, DC - University of Dayton senior Chris Rolfe has moved his goal-scoring touch from the college game to the pros. The forward scored his first goal for the Chicago Fire this weekend.
Rolfe, making his first start, tucked away a cross from teammate Mario Ivan Guerrero in the 50th minute to tie the match at 1-1, which ended up being the final score.
"This kid has real clear ideas," Fire head coach Dave Sarachan said of Rolfe. "He's got a great idea of where to go with the ball and a great first touch. He's in front of goal he generally gets a good shot off. He's becoming more of a clinical type finisher in the bit we have had him so we thought he needed to be on the field tonight and we were rewarded with a goal."
