DAYTON MEN'S SOCCER ALUM ADDED TO U.S. NATIONAL TEAM

Oct. 14, 2008

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - University of Dayton men's soccer alumnus and Kettering, Ohio native Chris Rolfe has been added to the U.S. Men's National Team's roster for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Rolfe, a forward, has been added to the mix, and will arrive into Port of Spain on Tuesday afternoon prior to the team's official training in the stadium. Rolfe has played eight times for the full team, most recently in an appearance in the USA's 1-0 win in Barbados on June 22 in the second round of qualifying.

Rolfe, UD's all-time assist leader, left Dayton after his senior season after he was drafted with the No. 29 overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft and signed by the Chicago Fire. Rolfe was selected to the 2004 NSCAA/adidas Men's NCAA Division I All-America Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 pick.

The U.S., which has already qualified for the Final Round with a 6-1 victory against Cuba on Saturday, will face Trinidad & Tobago at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Halsey Crawford Stadium. The U.S. sits atop Group 1 in the Semifinal Round of qualifying with at maximum 12 points from four games. The Game can be seen live at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN and Galavision.
