CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Freshman Clara Ang shot a first round 80 to lead the Dayton Flyers in eighth after the first round of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
UD shot a 328 to place in eighth out of 17 teams after day one. The Flyers as a team are only 18 strokes behind first place Murray State.
Ang tallied a 41 on her first nine holes and added a 39 in her final nine to place in a tie for 20th among individuals.
Just one stroke back was sophomore Julie Pouliquen who carded an 81. Like Ang, Pouliquen tallied a 41 on her first nine holes, but a 40 on the back nine.
Junior Katie Dempsey rebounded from a slow start to shoot an 82 in round one. Dempsey tallied a 44 in her first half of the round, but rebounded with a 38 on the back nine.
Junior Paige Smith added an 85 after shooting a 42 on the front nine and a 43 on the back. Junior Cari DeAngelis carded a 90 to complete the Flyer scoring.
Dayton plays the second round of the intercollegiate on Tuesday, Oct. 21 held at the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.
