Senior Allysa Detroy was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week for her efforts in Friday's sweep of St. Bonaventure. The Evansville North High School graduate anchored the UD lineup with convincing wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles as the Flyers improved to 4-7 this spring and 1-1 against conference opponents.
Also the recipient of this year's Women's Presidential Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award, Detroy earned her second career A-10 Player of the Week honor thanks to a pair of victories Friday.
She defeated Anna Perevenzetseva in singles, 6-2, 6-1, and teamed up with senior Megan Gray to beat Perevenzetseva and Yolande Callaghan in doubles, 8-4.
She is sharing the honor with Xavier's Kara Courtney.
Detroy is the second Flyer to earn the A-10 Player of the Week honor this season. Freshman Laina Grote received the nomination on Feb. 11.
The women's tennis team is back in action on Thursday, March 13 at Dayton Center Courts against Detroit at 7:30 p.m. ET.
