UD WOMEN'S GOLF RELEASES 2008 FALL SCHEDULE

The 2008 Dayton Flyers women's golf fall schedule was released highlighted by six events including the UD Invitational which the Flyers are hosting for the second consecutive year.

Head Coach Sally Kosters and the Flyers begin the 2008-09 campaign Sept. 7 at the Chicago State Invitational. The two-day tournament takes place at the Lost Marsh Golf Club in Hammond, Ind.

UD is in action a week later at the Youngstown State Invitational from Sept. 15-16 at the Salem Hills Golf Club in Salem Hills, Ohio. Last season the Flyers finished second as a team and Julie Pouliquen became the first UD golfer to finish as an individual medalist in a tournament since the 2004-05 season, winning the event by three strokes.

After a two-week break, the Flyers will take part in the IPFW Invitational from Sept. 29-30. The event is located at the Deer Track Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind. UD earned a ninth-place finish at last year's IPFW event.

In October the Flyers will participate in the Titans Invitational Oct. 6-7 at the Western Golf & Country Club in Redford, Mich. Last season Dayton finished in second at the Titans Invitational as three Flyers; Katie Gallagher, Katie Dempsey and Pouliquen each finishing in the Top 10.

From Oct. 20-21 Dayton heads to the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn., for the Austin Peay Intercollegiate. The Flyers placed 10th at last year's event after the tournament was canceled due to rain.

The fall season wraps up Oct. 27-28 at the UD Invitational. The event will be held at the NCR Country Club North Course in Kettering, Ohio. In 2007 UD picked up its third second-place finish of the fall season thanks in part to Gallagher's placing first.

Dayton is looking to build upon a strong 2007-08 season as the Flyers flourished in their spring season, winning the Ashland Invitational and the Bellarmine Invitational and finishing in the top five in seven events. UD returns its top five golfers from a year ago.
