DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton women's basketball player Kristin Daugherty was named to the ESPN The Magazine District IV All-Academic Second Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon.
Daugherty boasts a 3.69 GPA as a communications major and is a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The sophomore guard is Dayton's leading scorer this season with 13.8 points per game which ranks sixth in the A-10. The Fresno, Ohio native is second on the team in rebounding (5.1 rpg) and assists (2.4 apg). She ranks fourth in the league and 28th nationally in free throw percentage (.829).
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 on a scale of 4.0.
