FLYERS START OFF SLOW AT EKU SPRING INVITATIONAL

    RICHMOND, Ky. - After not playing in a tournament for two and a half weeks, the rust showed on the Dayton Flyers' swings.

    Led by rounds of 82 and 83 from sophomore Julie Pouliquen, Dayton finished tied for 17th in the 18-team tournament at the Eastern Kentucky University Spring Invitational.

    Dayton as a team shot a 341 in round one and a 333 in the second round.

    Freshman Clara Ang shot back-to-back scores of 84 to place second on the team and in the Top 75. Junior Katie Dempsey rebounded from an 88 to fire an 82 in round two.

    Junior Paige Smith also saw a slight improvement from the two rounds carding an 87 in round one and an 85 in the second. Junior Katie Gallagher bounced back from a 94 in the first round and settled in with an 84 in the second.

    The Flyers will complete the third and final round on Sunday, April 12 beginning with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start.
