The forward from Versailles, Ohio becomes just the eighth player in UD program history to reach the feat in her third season, and 20th overall. Kristin Daugherty reached 1,000 points last season, as did alum Kendel Ross. Raterman, who was named A-10 Player of the Week on Nov. 22, led all scorers with 26 points against the Raiders, shooting 10-of-14 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. She scored the 1,000th point of her career with 5:50 left to play in the game to give UD a commanding 80-57 lead.
TOP OF THE COACHING CHARTS
Head Coach Jim Jabir became the all-time wins leader in UD women’s basketball program history with Dayton’s 102-69 win over Toledo on Dec. 5, 2010. His 120 wins surpassed Linda Makowski’s 119 (1980-86). Dayton pulled off a dramatic 84-81 double overtime victory against Butler on Dec. 21, 2009 that gave Jabir his 100th win at Dayton and 320th of his career. He received a standing ovation during the men’s basketball game against Appalachian State, when UD Vice President/Director of Athletics Tim Wabler presented him with the game ball. He currently has 122 wins at UD.
THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three point shot in 297 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top 10 streaks in the nation. UD hit 11 treys in its 2010-11 season opener against Penn State.
EVEN DISTRIBUTION
In Dayton’s 12 games this season, there have been six different Flyers lead the team in scoring and five different players lead in rebounding. Kristin Daugherty and Justine Raterman lead the way in points, having scored a team-high in four games, and Raterman has led the team four times in rebounding.
BIG TIME CHAMPS
The University of Dayton women’s basketball team claimed the 2010 Minnesota Subway Classic with a convincing 97-81 over the Golden Gophers Nov. 21. Junior Patrice Lalor scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Flyers, and she was named to the all-tournament team. Fellow junior Justine Raterman was named MVP of the Classic after averaging 18.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg. She had 21 against Minnesota. It’s the second tournament hosted by a Big Ten team that the Flyers have won in the past two seasons. UD also claimed Purdue’s BTI Classic last year.
20 ROCK SOLID
Dayton has posted three consecutive 20-plus win seasons. It marks just the second time the feat has been accomplished in UD women’s basketball history; the other was when Dayton had five consecutive seasons, winning at least 20 games from 1976-77 to 1980-81, and capturing an AIAW national championship in 1979-80.
PASSIN’ PATRICE
Patrice Lalor has 290 career assists, 12th all-time at UD. Lalor needs five to catch Renee Miller (1993-97) for 11th. She was tied for the Atlantic 10 lead with a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio last season. She was second in the conference with 134 assists. Lalor is 13th in the A-10 this season with 3.1 apg.
DAUGHERTY’S DESTINY
Senior Kristin Daugherty scored the 1,000th point of her University of Dayton career as the Flyers battled to a 74-60 win over Massachusetts Feb. 13, 2010. She became the 18th Flyer women’s basketball player to reach 1,000 and just the seventh to accomplish the feat by her junior season. She now has 1,242 points, 13th all-time at UD. She needs 12 points to catch Stefanie Miller (1994-04) in 12th with 1,254 points. Her 116 three-pointers are sixth all-time. She needs 38 to move up to fifth all-time, currently held by Jennifer Strong (2002-07) with 134.

FLYERS SIGN STELLAR CLASS
University of Dayton women’s basketball coach Jim Jabir announced his 2011 recruiting class recently and it’s a great one! The class includes 6-foot-4 center Jodie Cornelie, a member of the French National team, 6-foot-3 forward Ally Malott of Madison High School, and 5-foot-8 guard Andrea Hoover of Spring Valley Academy as Dayton’s 2011 class. Cornelie helped France to a runner-up finish at the 2010 FIBA U-17 World Championships this summer. She was one of 10 players in her age group in the country chosen to play for the Centre Federal Du Basket-Ball (CFBB) the same organization in which NBA player Tony Parker was developed. Malott, the second-rated senior in Ohio who is 40th nationally in the latest ESPNU Hoop Gurlz 100 recruiting rankings, was named to the 2010 USA Women’s U-18 National Team this summer and helped the squad to a gold medal in the FIBA Americas Championship. Hoover led the Ohio Lady Attack to an AAU 15-U national fourth place finish in 2009. Hoover averaged 21.5 points in the National Association of Christian Athletes Division II National Championship.
