NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Dayton’s Justine Raterman was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Raterman paced Dayton to a 1-1 week, including an 87-80 overtime win at St. Bonaventure on Feb. 2 and a near upset of No. 7/7 Xavier on Feb. 5. The junior forward, who moved up to No. 11 on UD's all-time scoring list with 1,271 points and No. 10 on UD's all-time rebound list (657), recorded her third double-double of the year with 27 points and 10 rebounds against the Bonnies. In that game she shot 79 percent from the floor (11-of-14) including 2-of-3 from behind the arc. Raterman also scored a game-high 25 points in the Flyers’ heartbreaking 70-66 extra-session loss to the Musketeers, while adding seven rebounds and two assists. For the week, Raterman averaged 26.0 points and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 63 percent (22-35) from the floor.
She shared her second honor of the season with Temple's Shey Peddy, who picked up her second-straight Player of the Week citation after averaging 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a pair of wins for the Owls last week.
