HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Junior Clara Ang’s 78 helped the University of Dayton Flyers women’s golf team earn a dual meet victory over The Citadel Bulldogs.
Dayton as a team defeated the Bulldogs 330 to 342 to open the spring season.
Ang posted back-to-back scores of 39 on the front and back nine and won the tournament by a stroke. This is Ang's first individual championship at Dayton.
Freshman Grace Nikolai enjoyed a career day carding an 82 and finishing third overall.
Just one stroke behind was senior Julie Pouliquen whose 83 put her in a tie for fourth. Cheryl Ang enjoyed a strong performance shooting an 84.
Megan Keating carded an 85 and Kelly Coakley shot an 89 to complete the Dayton team scoring.
Heather Jorgensen rounded out the scoring with a 94 playing as an individual.
Up next for the Flyers is the Butler Spring Invitational on March 28 and 29 from the Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.
