FLYERS TO FACE UNLV ON FIRST DAY OF ARIZONA STATE CLASSIC

No. 23/22 University of Dayton women's basketball takes on UNLV this Saturday, Dec. 1 on the first day of the Arizona State Classic in Tempe, Ariz. at Wells Fargo Arena. Tip-off is approximately 5 p.m. ET, or 25 minutes following the conclusion of the Sun Devils vs. Binghamton matchup.

The Flyers (7-0) hope to make a clean sweep in the final of their three in-season tournaments this year.

UD has already won the Maggie Dixon Classic (Nov. 9-10). by defeating MVSU 93-59 in their home opener and host then-No. 25 DePaul 92-80. UD hosted and won the Dayton Marriott Classic (Nov. 23-25) with a 68-44 win over Buffalo and a 105-42 win over Eastern Illinois.

UP NEXT
UD's next home game is Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. vs. Michigan State. The first 1,000 fans will receive a white Dayton Flyer rally towel to help cheer on the team.

WIDEST MARGIN OF VICTORY
The Flyers won the Dayton Marriott Classic championship with a 105-42 win over Eastern Illinois (11/25/12). The 63-point victory for the Flyers ranks as seventh largest margin of victory in the program's history and the largest since UD became a Division I program. The 105 points scored ranks tied for 11th in program history and is the most in a regulation game since the program became Division I in 1984-85. The program record is 112 points vs. Capital on January 23, 1978.

FLYERS IN THE POLLS
Dayton is ranked No. 23 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll with 177 points. It is the fourth time in history that UD is in the Top 25. UD joined the poll last week at No. 24 with101 points to mark the first time the Flyers had been in the Top 25 since Dec. 7, 2009. The Flyers moved up three spots to No. 22 from No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. In the polls two weeks ago, the Flyers were receiving votes in the AP Top 25 poll (9) - 39th overall and in the USA Today Coaches Poll (4) - 40th overall. The highest the Flyers have ever been ranked was No. 20 in both polls in 2009-10.

THREE TIMES AS NICE
Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for games played during the week of Nov. 19-25. Dayton has had a player honored in each of the three weeks the award has been given this season: Amber Deane earned the season's first Rookie of the Week honor, and then sophomore Andrea Hoover was named A-10 Player of the Week.

DAYTON INFO
- The Flyers, who are off to their best start, at 7-0, since becoming a Division I program, have four players averaging double figures in scoring: sophomore Ally Malott (13.3), freshman Amber Deane (12.6), sophomore Andrea Hoover (11.6) and freshman Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova (10.1).
- Senior Sam MacKay is nearly in double figures with 9.9 ppg, and she also leads the Flyers in assists with 5.7 apg. Her 2.4 assist/turnover ratio leads the Atlantic 10.
- Malott also leads the Flyers in rebounding (8.4 rpg).
- The Flyers lead the A-10 in scoring offense (86.0 ppg), scoring margin (+23.3), field goal percentage (.480), assists (20.9 apg), assist/turnover ratio (1.1), defensive rebounds (31.9 rpg) and three-point field goals made (8.9 per game).
- Dayton has out-rebounded all seven of its opponents this season.
- Both Ally Malott and Sam MacKay recorded career-highs in points with 20 in Dayton's 95-73 win over Wright State on Nov. 28.

UNLV REBELS
Series:
  This is the first meeting between UNLV and Dayton women's basketball.
- UNLV's overall record is 2-4
- Lost to Bowling Green 64-54 at their last home game on November 25th
- Forward Alana Cesarz averages 17.0 ppg and scored a career-high 27 points in UNLV's win vs. the OU Bobcats on Nov. 18. The sophomore also leads the team in free throw percentage (.909).
- Kelli Thompson leads UNLV in points per game with an average of 18.2 ppg.  The senior guard ranks 13th all-time at UNLV in career scoring.
 
BINGHAMPTON BEARCATS
Series: 
UD has only squared off against the BU Bearcats once and it was a victory last year during the 2011 St. Peter's College Holiday Classic.  The Flyers won the Classic with a 73-63 win over South Florida and a 60-50 win over the Bearcats in the championship game led by Cassie Sant's 16 points. She was named to the All-Classic Team.
Scouting:
- Most recently fell to Canisius in a 61-48 loss at home
- BU's overall record is 0-6 so far this season
- Sharae Swinson, a sophomore forward, leads the Bearcats 9.8 ppg.
- Junior guard Jasbriell Swain leads Binghamton in assists (18) and rebounds (7.8 rpg) and is the team's second leading scorer with 8.3 ppg.
 
ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS
Series
:  The only time the Flyers were matched up against the Sun Devils of Arizona State was Nov. 30, 1997 in Tempe, Ariz. UD lost 68-55.
Scouting:
-Won vs. Florida at the South Point Vegas Thanksgiving Shootout and were declared tournament champions with a final score of 74-58 on Nov. 25.
- ASU's overall record of 2-3 for the season so far, and have won two of their last three games.
- Janae Fulcher leads ASU in scoring with 10.6 ppg.
- Joy Burke is a junior center who leads the Sun Devils in rebounds with 8.0 per game and she chips in 10.0 ppg.
- Promise Amukamara, a sophomore guard, averages 8.0 ppg.
