The University of Dayton women's basketball team moved up two spots to No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Flyers are receiving 283 votes this week. UD is also ranked No. 17 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. Both rankings are the highest in Flyer women's basketball program history
Dayton improved to 10-0 after a 60-53 win over previously unbeaten Michigan State Saturday. The 10 consecutive victories marks the longest winning streak for the Flyers since the 2006-07 season when UD rattled off 16 consecutive wins.
The Flyers are one of 11 teams in NCAA D-I Women's Basketball that are still undefeated.Â
Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 in scoring offense (81.0), scoring margin (+20.0), field goal percentage (.449), rebounding offense (47.8 avg/g), assists (18.9) assist/turnover ratio (1.1), defensive rebounds (32.4 avg/g), and 3-point FG made per game (7.8). The Flyers have six players averaging 8.0+ ppg, including four in double figures: Ally Malott (13.8), Andrea Hoover (11.7), Sam MacKay (11.0) and Amber Deane (10.4).
The Flyers begin a four-game road swing with a trip to Akron, Ohio to play the Zips Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. Dayton doesn't return to UD Arena until its home conference opener against La Salle on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m.
