#17/16 (AP/Coaches Poll ) Dayton hosts George Washington Thursday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. in its annual School Day game. About 6,000 area school children will be in attendance, including the grade schools Ally Malott and Andrea Hoover attended. It is the Flyers’ first Thursday game this season. Admission is FREE to all for this game only.

- George Washington leads the all-time series 24-4 over the Flyers, although UD has won the last four meetings. Dayton downed the Colonials 74-56 last year on Jan. 28, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Andrea Hoover had a career-high 22 points, along with eight rebounds. The Flyers are 1-12 all-time when hosting GW.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials are 7-10 overall and 1-2 in the Atlantic 10. They snapped a five-game losing streak with a 79-68 win over VCU Sunday. Five GW players scored in double figures led by Chakecia Miller’s 20 points. Megan Nipe leads GW in scoring with 10.2 ppg. Tara Booker (9.7), Danni Jackson (9.5) and Shi-Heria Shipp (9.1) are nearly averaging double figure scoring. Jackson is fourth in the A-10 in assists per game with 5.2 per game.

FLYER FACTS
- Dayton is in its 18th season in the Atlantic 10. After their 82-39 win over Butler on Jan. 12, the Flyers improve to 10-8 in A-10 conference openers, including 4-2 when opening the league season on the road.

-  Dayton (15-1, 3-0 A-10) started the Atlantic 10 season 3-0 for the first time in program history when it knocked off Rhode Island 74-48. Not only did the Flyers accomplish the feat for the first time, they did so in convincing fashion with a +39 scoring margin of victory in conference games.

- No. 17/16 Dayton is 1 of 7 teams with just one loss in NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball. The others are: Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina and Notre Dame.

- The Flyers are in the Top 15 in seven NCAA rankings:  6th in scoring offense (80.1 ppg),  6th in assists per game (18.8), 7th in win-loss percentage (93.8), 9th in scoring margin (+22.6), 11th in rebound margin (+10.8), 12th in RPI and 13th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.13).

- Several Flyers are in the A-10’s Top 5 in multiple categories. Senior Sam MacKay is second in the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio (2.0) and is tied for second for assists per game (5.4), freshman Amber Deane leads the league in field goal percentage (.548), sophomore Andrea Hoover is first in free throw percentage (.867), sophomore Ally Malott is second in 3-point field goal percentage (.408) and freshman Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova is fourth in blocked shots per game (1.8).

- The Flyers have four players averaging more than 10.0 ppg and one more that is close: sophomore Ally Malott (12.1 - 14th in A-10), sophomore Andrea Hoover (11.3 - 19th in A-10), senior Sam MacKay (11.1 - 20th in A-10), freshman Amber Deane (10.5) and junior Cassie Sant (9.4). Seven of UD’s 10 active players have led UD in single-game scoring this season. Dayton is the only team in the A-10 to have three players in the Top 20 in scoring.

- The Flyers have only lost the battle of the boards once this season, 43-39 to Bowling Green in UD’s lone loss of the season, 65-40 on Dec. 30 (UD also tied Arizona State on the boards).

- Dayton has beaten four BCS teams this season: from the Big East (DePaul), Big Ten (Michigan State), Pac 12 (Arizona State) and SEC (Vanderbilt).

- The Flyers have reached as high as No. 15 in the AP Top 25 and No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches Poll this season; both are program bests for the Flyers. They are currently 17th in the AP and tied for 16th with North Carolina in the Coaches poll.

- The Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in 12 categories: scoring offense (80.1), scoring margin (+22.6), field goal percentage (.456), field goal percentage defense (.339), 3-point field goal percentage (.354), rebounding offense (46.4), rebounding margin (+10.8), assists (18.8 per game), assist/turnover ratio (1.1), defensive rebounds per  game (31.7), defensive rebound percentage (.732) and three-point field goals made per game (7.4).

- Dayton was listed as tied for 6th as the least-experienced team in the nation. The players on UD’s roster average just 1.0 years of experience.

- Dayton was picked to win the A-10 this season, receiving seven first-place votes.
