WOMEN'S SOCCER HOSTS RAMS IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME

Flyers Going For 200th Win At Baujan

The University of Dayton women's soccer team hosts the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic-10 conference match at Baujan Field this Sunday, Oct. 27 at noon.  This match marks the final regular season home game for the Flyers. Dayton is in search of their 200th career home victory. There is a free raffle for everyone in attendance for the official University of Dayton Soccer scarves and also scarf giveaways for the best Halloween costumes.

ON A ROLL
The Flyers, who are unbeaten in their last nine matches (8-0-1 and 5-0-0 in the A-10), are outscoring opponents 26-4 in that span. Dayton has also already clinched a spot in the 2013 eight-team Atlantic 10 Championship which will be hosted by VCU Nov. 7-10.

FLYER NOTES 
• UD leads the Atlantic 10 in shots (282) and points (101). The Flyers are also first in the conference in goals scored (34), second in assists (33) and tied for first in shutouts (8).
• Sophomore Ashley Campbell is second in the league in points (26) and goals (12), while senior Juliana Libertin is first in assists (13). Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth James is in the league lead for shutouts (7/1).
• Libertin is first in the country in assists per game. 
Juliana Libertin's 40 career assists are the best for active players in the NCAA.
• The Flyers have earned six A-10 weekly honors this season: two Player of the Week honors each for Ashley Campbell, and senior Steph Emery; while Elizabeth James earned Rookie of the Week twice. 

SCOUTING THE RAMS
• Fordham is 1-7-1in road matches this season; their only road win was a 3-0 win over Vermont on September 15.
• Kelsey Dougherty Howard leads the Rams with 10 points (4 goals and 2 assists) this season.
• Fordham is 4-8-3 this season with a 2-3-1 record in A-10 play. The Rams are coming off a 3-2 double overtime victory over UMass.

SERIES INFO
The Flyers hold the all-time series against Fordham with a 13-1-3 record versus the Rams. Their last meeting was in 2011 where the Flyers earned a 2-1 win in the Bronx.

UP NEXT
The Flyers travel to Philadelphia for an Atlantic 10 conference match  against LaSalle Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The Flyers then take on Saint Joseph's on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. to conclude their 2013 regular season.

OVERTIME WIN ON SENIOR NIGHT
Dayton congratulated the accomplishments of its five seniors Oct. 19 with a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over Saint Louis. Two of the three goals in the overtime win came from seniors.  Senior Stephanie Emery scored the game-tying goal in the 65th minute and senior Sarah Senoyuit scored the golden goal with 14 seconds left in the first overtime. 

KICKIN' CAMPBELL
Sophomore Ashley Campbell leads the league with 12 goals, and her goals per game average is 12th best in the NCAA. She is also 24th, nationally, in points per game. She was awarded Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this season during the week of Sept. 23-29. In Dayton's first conference matchup against Richmond, Campbell had her first collegiate hat trick, scoring three goals and registering a career-high six points in the game. 

KICKS FOR KIDS
The Flyer women's soccer team is collaborating with the University of Dayton Department of Health and Sport Science to support their Adapted Physical Activity Program with "Kicks for Kids".  Fans can send donations to: University of Dayton, c/o Kicks for Kids, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469-1210. The funds raised will go toward equipment for the UD Adapted Physical Activity Program.

LIBERTIN'S LOVE
Senior Juliana Libertin leads the A-10 and the NCAA with 13 assists. Her 40 career assists are the best for active players in the NCAA. Sophomore Nicole Waters is tied for second in the A-10 and is 11th in NCAA with 10 assists. 

FLYER SUCCESS 
The Flyers made NCAA Tournament Appearances in 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2011, advancing to the second round in both 2009 and 2010 and to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001. 

BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN 
The Flyers are 199-57-19 all-time in games played at Baujan Field. There have been 275 UD women's soccer games played at the historic venue and the Flyers own a .758 winning percentage in those matches.  In the last five years UD women's soccer is 44-7-4 at home; an astounding .836 winning percentage at Baujan. BennettRank College Soccer recently posted its findings of a year-long study on the validity to a home field advantage. The University of Dayton's Baujan Field was ranked 29th in all of NCAA Division I women's soccer.

SUPER SENIORS
The Flyer seniors have a career record of 62-15-4, an .790 winning percentage, which is fifth-best in the nation behind Stanford, Denver., Marquette and Virginia. Information courtesy of CollegeSoccer360.com.

FLYERS PICKED TO WIN A-10 AGAIN
For the fifth straight year, the University of Dayton women's soccer team has been chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 13 head coaches Dayton and La Salle each received 160 points in the voting, forcing a tiebreaker scenario in which Dayton earned the most first-place nods (7).  The Flyers, who seek a record ninth A-10 Championship title, return eight starters and will rely offensively on 2012 All-Conference selections Juliana Libertin and Ashley Campbell, who combined for a total of 24 goals last season, to fill the void of A-10 Offensive Player of the Year, Colleen Williams. Dayton will be trying for its fourth championship in five years. 

30-UNDER-30 PROGRAM
Tiffany Hansen can add one more distinction to her list of accomplishments this year. She was selected from more than 350 applicants for the inaugural edition of the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program. An assistant coach for the University of Dayton women's soccer program, Hansen will participate in the NSCAA year-long education and mentorship opportunity which includes 15 male and 15 female coaches. This program, which was created earlier this summer, is dedicated to supporting fledgling coaches and fostering their growth at a crucial point in their vocation. Hansen was also recently invited to the prestigious NCAA Women Coaches Academy in Denver, Colo. the spring of 2013.

DAYTON'S A-10 BACKGROUND 
• Dayton has won the A-10 Tournament Championship more than any other team in the conference: eight times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011). 
• UD has also won or shared 10 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010). The next closest is Massachusetts with five. 
• Dayton has reached the finals 10 times and is 8-2 in the championship game.
