2013 Women's Bracket
DAYTON, OH.- The University of Dayton women’s tennis team headed to Charlottesville, VA yesterday for the 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament. The women were given the #14 seed as they finished their spring season with an overall record of 5-15.
Head Coach Ryan Meyer commented on how he felt about the teams play this spring season but also his feelings going into the tournament. Coach said “I feel that we improved in many areas during the course of the season. The biggest area we improved on was learning to play more offensive rather than sitting behind the baseline and just making shots. The frustrating thing about this season was that our record doesn't reflect us as a team. We fought hard during all matches and competed at a higher level than our record shows. With heading to A10's we are hoping to play well and finish the season on a high note.”
The first match for the Flyers will be today April 18 at 12:00 p.m. UD will take on University of Massachusetts for their second time this season. In their first meeting the Flyers took at 6-1 loss with their single point coming from junior Maureen Stevens at the No. 3 position.
The winner of this match up will play the winner of the #6 George Washington vs. #11 Saint Joseph’s match Friday April 19 at 1:00 p.m.
