DAYTON , Ohio – The University of Dayton men's soccer team broke a 1-1 tie in the 68th minute with a goal inside the box for a 2-1 victory in the last exhibition game for the Flyers ahead of the 2013 campaign.

Dayton jumped out to an early lead in the 39th minute when junior Greg Enstone knocked a Brian Richards' cross into the back of the net for the opening goal of the contest.

Eastern Illinois evened the game up in the second half with a goal in the 63rd minute.

The Flyers answered just five minutes later when grad student Eddie Jones scored on a cross from senior John Howe, making it a 2-1 game in UD's favor.

That score would hold up for Dayton to finish off its preseason finale with a 2-1 win over the Panthers Saturday.

Enstone and Jones provided the goal for the Flyers while Richards and Howe contributed the assists. Sophomore Maik Schoonderwoerd also recorded three shots on goals in four attempts.

In goal, sophomore Chris Froschauer played all 90 minutes between the posts and recorded four saves.

Dayton will now start its regular season on Sept. 6 as part of the Dayton Flyer Classic when the Flyers take on Northern Kentucky.
