NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced their men's soccer players of the week Monday and named Dayton freshman James Haupt the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Haupt scored the title clinching goal for Dayton Sunday in a 1-0 win over Detroit as the Flyers won a share of the Missouri State Tournament title. The freshman forward smashed home a pass from Greg Enstone in the 75th minute to put Dayton ahead. That would be all the Flyers would need to pick up the win, the tournament championship, and their fifth win of the season.

The goal marked the first of Haupt's Dayton career.

VCU's Dennis Castillo was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week.

The Flyers are 5-0-0 on the season. Haupt and the rest of the Dayton squad will head to Ohio State this Friday to take on the Buckeyes at 7:30 p.m.
