Dayton, Ohio. - The University of Dayton women's tennis team wrapped up a busy weekend of play at the Raider Shootout on Sunday, hosted by Wright State University. Â Matches were held at Thomas Cloud Park where the weather was perfect for a weekend on the courts.Â
In doubles action, doubles duo
Carly Peck and
Katie Shepherd snagged a close victory in the back draw against Modesto and Bridegroom of IUPUI 8-6.Â
On the singles side of play,
Carly Peck slid past Swartwood of IUPUI 6-1, 6-1 in the Back Draw "A" 2nd Round. Freshman
Katie Shepherd also earned herself a hard fought victory (6-3, 6-7, 6-1) in the Main Draw of Flight C. Â After a second set deficit,
Sammi Hornbarger defeated V. Madrigal of Wright State 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 in back draw play.
Mandy Marchant and
Claire McNulty also earned themselves victories in back draw play. Marchant defeated Bridegroom (IUPUI) 6-2, 6-4 and McNulty defeated Romero (NKU) after a first round deficit 3-6, 6-2, 10-3.

The women completed their fall schedule and will be back in action for a completive spring season in January, where they will open up at home against Akron.
