Tyler Roeth Was Dayton's Top Finisher In 3rd Place

The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished second of five Division I teams at the 32nd Annual Queen City Invitational 5K.

The Flyers scored 52 points and were runners-up to Northern Kentucky who had 46 points. Cincinnati finished third with a score of 55, followed by Xavier (82) and Wright State (108).

"It was good to beat Cincinnati. We have not beaten them in some time," said UD Head Coach Rich Davis. "We had some excellent times, especially Tyler Roeth and Michael Russell."

Senior Tyler Roeth came in third place for the Flyers in the men's NCAA Division I 5K race in a time of 15:11.46. Junior Michael Russell came in sixth overall in a time of 15:17.76. Rounding out the top five for the Flyers were freshmen Ethan Louis (10th in 15:36), Michael Tymoski (12th in 15:39) and Kyle Lach (21st in 15:50).

The Flyers will be back in action at the Friendship Invitational 8K in Cedarville, Ohio Sept. 21, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.

"We are going to be working on translating these 5K times into our next 8K race," said Davis.
