Alaina Turner Led The Flyers With 10 Kills

ATHENS, Ohio –
The University of Dayton volleyball team was swept by #24 North Carolina in the first match of Ohio University's Baymont Inn Invitational by scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-23.

The Flyers (2-2) hit just .031 in the first set with six kills, while the Tarheels (4-0) hit at a .324 clip with 17 kills. UNC continued its accuracy in the second set with a .419 hitting percentage. UD improved drastically from the first set with 12 kills on a .219 hitting percentage.

The Flyers showed fight in the third and final set. Down 19-13, UD got within one point, 24-23, with the help of three consecutive Alaina Turner kills on sets from Jenna Jendryk.

Turner led Dayton with 10 kills. Jill Loiars added six kills, while Isolde Hannan had four kills on a match-high .500 hitting percentage. UD's Jendryk had a match-high 24 assists. Megan Campbell had a match-high six blocks, including a solo block.
