DAYTON -- The University of Dayton football team remains home for a big game on Saturday, Nov. 8 when the Flyers renew their rivalry with the Drake Bulldogs. Game time at Welcome Stadium is 1 p.m. ET.
Dayton is 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in the Pioneer Football League, while Drake is 5-4 and 4-2 in the PFL.Â
Dayton is led by senior running back
Connor Kacsor, who has been named to The Sports Network's Walter Payton Award Watch List. The Payton Award goes annually to the top offensive player in FCS football.
Flyer quarterback
Will Bardo is starting his 40th game, a UD record, on Saturday.
Dayton's win against Valparaiso on Nov. 1 clinched the Flyers' 37th winning season in the last 38 years.Â

STREAKING
UD has not been shut out in an NCAA record 428 straight games, the best such active string in all of college football. The last team to shut out the Flyers was Marshall, 9-0, on Oct. 16, 1976. That is also the all-time FCS record.
SERIES STUFF
• Dayton leads the series 24-6, and has won the last three meetings in Dayton.Â
• In the last game between the two schools, Drake beat UD 36-10 in Des Moines on Nov. 9.Â
• Dayton defensive end
Pat Dowd, who has been injured much of 2014, tied an NCAA record with six sack in the game.
• The Flyers are the only team in the Pioneer Football league to hold a winning series record over the Bulldogs.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• First-year coach Rick Fox's team has won three of its last four games.
• The Drake defense leads the PFL and is 17th nationally in yards allowed per game (310.7) and rushing yards per game (118.7).
• The rushing defense is bolstered by 22 sacks.
• Only one of six PFL opponents has gained more than 300 yards on the Drake defense this season.Â
• Linebacker and co-captain John Hugunin leads the team and is eighth in the PFL in tackles per game (7.8).
• Quarterback Andy Rice is 175 of 310 passing (.565) for 1,857 yards and eight TD's in 2014.
HEALTHY STABLE
• In the Valparaiso win,
J.J. Greenwood had 10 carries for 84 yards while
Jack Adams was closely behind, rushing nine times for 57 yards. Both players scored touchdowns.
• Valparaiso was the second time in the past three games that the Flyers have had three different players reach the end zone for a rushing TD. They only accomplished that feat just twice in 2013.
ROSS' RECEPTIONS
•
Ross Smith has 101 catches since 2012, with 35 (11.9 avg.) in 2013.Â
• This year, he leads UD in receptions (41, already six more than 2014), yards (458), and receiving touchdowns (4). He averages 11.2 yards a catch.
• Smith has at least one catch in 28 straight games.
CHRISTOPHER CLUB
• Redshirt sophomore linebacker
Christopher Beaschler is second in the PFL in tackles (10.4).
• His 17 tackles against Morehead State were the most by a Dayton player in five years.
SUPER SUDNICK
• Redshirt sophomore defensive end
Nate Sudnick leads Dayton and is fourth in the PFL in sacks (0.56 per game). He is 10th in the league in tackles for loss (0.94 per game).Â
• He is also fourth on the team in tackles (47).
FLYER FOR HIREÂ Â Â
Former Dayton cornerback
Kyle Sebetic was signed by the New York Giants on Nov. 4 to join their practice squad. Sebetic originally signed with them as a UFA over the summer, after completing his career at UD last year.
