ST. LOUIS – The Pioneer Football League began its preseason awards Monday by releasing the 2026 PFL preseason poll.
The University of Dayton was tabbed to finish fourth in the league this year after going 5-3 in PFL play last season, earning a fourth-place finish in 2025. The Flyers were predicted in the same position, trailing the likes of St. Thomas, Drake, and preseason favorites, San Diego.
UD received 69 points, just ahead of Butler with 67 points, Marist, and Presbyterian.
The PFL preseason teams will be announced Tuesday.
This will mark the 34
th year of the Pioneer Football League as Dayton and third-year head coach
Trevor Andrews look to take the next step in competing for a conference title.
UD begins the season on Aug. 29 at home against Fairmont St.
