DAYTON - The Pioneer Football League announced its weekly award winners Sunday and recognized University of Dayton senior
Joe Kingsbury as the PFL Defensive Player of the Week.
Kingsbury tied a career high with 12 tackles, which he last did also against Butler on Oct. 18, 2025. This past weekend's contest saw the senior linebacker not only record a game-high 12 tackles once again, but he added 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in the defensive-led victory for the Flyers.
This is the first honor for the Illinois native this season and second straight for the Flyers, joining teammate
Paul Kelly, who was Special Teams Player of the Week last week. Also picking up PFL accolades this season is former Defensive Player of the Week
Javawn Brooks.Â
Kingsbury and the rest of the Flyers return to action this Saturday at home against San Diego. Kickoff is at 12 p.m. at Welcome Stadium.Â
