DAYTON -- The University of Dayton women's tennis team split a pair of matches this weekend, beating Northern Kentucky on Friday 4-2, and then losing by the same score to IUPUI on Saturday.

The NKU match hinged on a thrilling three-hour match in the fourth singles slot. Dayton's Mandy Marchant edged Marta Romeo 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 to earn the Flyers' fourth point, and the victory. UD also got a three-set win from Katie Shepherd at fifth singles. Dayton also had straight-wins from Carly Peck (second singles) and Alex Townsend (third singles).

Doubles was not played with the match decided.
