Celeste Edwards was tabbed as Co-Rookie of the Week for her performance in games played between Jan. 27 – Feb. 2.
Edwards had a career-high 17 points in UD's 103-81 win over George Mason. She tied her career high in points which she set last week against Saint Joseph's Edwards played a game-high 36 minutes. All 17 of her points came in the first half where she shot 6-of-9 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from three-point range in the first half. Her five three-pointers in a half is a UD record. She shot 71.4 percent from three-point range in the game. She also tied a career high with two steals.
Edwards shared the weekly honor with Hannah Missry of Fordham. Missry continued her hot hand for the Rams this week, tallying double figures in both games. Against URI on Wednesday, Missry connected on three of her six attempts from beyond the arc, finishing the game with 11 points. In her team's loss to St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Missry led the Rams with 18 points, shooting six of 13 from three-point land, including a few late threes in a comeback effort that ultimately fell short.
Dayton hosts VCU this Wednesday, Feb. 5 at UD Arena at 7 p.m. ET.
