DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team secured a 2-1 win over Oakland Saturday in the team's second game of the 2014 Flyers Softball Classic at UD Softball Stadium. Senior
Alysha Isaacson ripped a single up the middle to plate the winning run for UD in the sixth inning.
Despite committing three errors to the Grizzilies' one and being out-hit by OU, 6-5, the Flyers' defensive efforts we rewarded with a sixth-inning RBI-single which proved to be the winning run.
Oakland (10-10) got on the board first in the second inning when Shannon Cleveland doubled in what would end up being the Golden Grizzlies' only run of the game.
Dayton (8-12) evened the score in the third as sophomore
Kathryn Hess was brought home on a RBI-single from junior
Natalie Mariano.

Kayla English (4-5) earned the win after tossing a complete game. She struck out four while walking three and gave up one earned run on six hits.
Erin Kownacki (4-6) was charged with the loss after also working a complete game (six innings). She struck out five to two walks and gave up one earned run on five hits.
Sunday's schedule has been adjusted due to forecasted cold temperatures. Dayton will play host to IUPUI tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
