Kayla English tossed a complete-game, two-hitter in the Flyers' win while sophomore
Kennedy Haynes went 3-for-5 on the day, including a home run.

Dayton (9-13)Â and Ohio (15-13) were locked in a defensive battle through a good portion of the game and English held the no-hitter for 4.2 innings. In the bottom of the fifth, UD was able to plate three runs, including Haynes' two-run blast, the second home run of her career. The Flyers repeated the three-spot in the sixth on the strength of a solo home run from junior
Natalie Mariano and a two-run long-ball from senior
Alysha Isaacson.
English (5-5) put in seven innings of work, her third complete game this season in the win for Dayton. She struck out a season-high-tying nine batters to only one walk while allowing no earned runs on two hits.
OU's Dorsey (11-9) was charged with the loss in the circle after working 4.2 innings. She struck out two of the 19 batters she faced to one walk while giving up three runs on four hits.

Ohio scored three runs in the second inning of the nightcap after a bases-loaded single plus a Flyer fielding error brought all runners home. The batter was eventually thrown out on the play but not before the damage was done. Senior
Kasi Vazquez got the Flyers a run back in the third when she doubled in pinch-runner sophomore
Katelyn Gibson. Senior
Dana Trotta knocked out a home run in the fourth, cutting the Ohio lead to two, 4-2, which would prove to be the final margin. The game was stopped in the top of the seventh due to darkness.
Sophomore
Emily Froment (0-3) was charged with the loss for Dayton. She put in two innings before being relieved by freshman
Gabrielle Snyder in the third. The two combined for five strikeouts and one walk on the evening.
McClary (3-4) picked up the win for the Bobcats in the circle after putting in 2.2 innings. She struck out four to two walks and allowed zero runs on only two hits.
The Flyers return to action this weekend with a two-game set at Rhode Island to open Atlantic 10 Conference play on the road. Originally scheduled as a doubleheader for Saturday, the Flyers and Rams will square off for a single game Friday at 4:30 at Bryant University field.
