Final Results

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's track and field team finished up competition at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday.

The Flyers finished eighth overall with 30.50 points. Akron took first place, followed by Cincinnati, and Miami (Ohio).

"We had an excellent two days of competition this weekend," said head coach Jason Francis. "I'm very impressed with all of our performances. The women really took advantage of the competition this weekend."

In the heptathlon, Katy Garcia finished eighth with a point total of 4440, while Rebecca Maj was right behind her in ninth with a total of 4268 points, a personal record. Garcia tied a personal best in the long jump with a mark of 5.16m, finishing sixth overall. She also took seventh in the javelin and eighth in the 800m.

Maddi Schmidt took seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.77, gathering two points for Dayton.

Maya Pedersen had an outstanding showing in the 400m dash, setting a personal record and achieving a Top 5 mark All-Time at Dayton. With a time of 54.76, she finished third overall and added six points to UD's total.

In the 800m, Chelsea VanHook set a new personal record with a time of 2:15.96, finishing eighth overall.

The Dayton "A" 4x400m relay team took fourth place, posting a time of 3:50.53. That earned the Flyers five points and was the fourth-best time in school history.

In the shot put, Miranda Nelson finished 12^th out of 38 competitors with a distance of 13.11m, her best mark this season.

Juliana Lawniczak earned Dayton points with a height of 1.67m in the high jump, a new personal record. She finished tied for fifth.

In the triple jump, Maddi Schmidt picked up four points for the Flyers with a distance of 11.56m and a fifth-place finish.

Hanna Krizmanic and Ashley DeMange earned nine points for Dayton with heights of 3.82m and 3.67m respectively in the pole vault. They finished fourth and fifth while Sarah Gaskell took 11^th. Krizmanic's jump was a new personal best.

The Flyers will next compete at the Jesse Owens Classic on April 18-19 in Columbus.
