Final Results

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's track and field team finished up the weekend by competing at the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State University.

"Overall it was a good weekend for our program," said head coach Jason Francis. "The women completed well against some of the nation's best athletes this weekend."

Maya Pedersen had a strong performance in the 400m dash, finishing seventh overall out of 34 competitors. Kassy Thomas and Mariah Curtis also competed in the event.

In the 800m run, Chelsea VanHook had a personal record time of 2:15.29, earning her 13^th place.

The Dayton "A" 4x400m relay team took seventh with a time of 3:53.02.

Maddi Schmidt took 23^rd in the 100m hurdles, posting a time of 14.82. She also finished eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.62m.
Paige Yaeger finished the 400m hurdles in 1:06.91.

In the high jump, Katy Garcia had a height of 1.65m to finish tied for fourth out of 34 student-athletes. Rebecca Maj wasn't far behind and also hit 1.65m. Juliana Lawniczak had a height of 1.60m.

Miranda Nelson recorded a mark of 13.01m in the shot put, picking up 23^rd place.

Ashley DeMange led the way in the pole vault with a height of 3.85m, finishing in third place and setting a new personal record. It is also the fourth-best mark in school history. Hanna Krizmanic followed with a vault of 3.70m and Sarah Gaskell hit 3.40m.

In the hammer throw, Aly Weeman finished sixth overall with a distance of 56.51m, beating her previous best by almost two meters. It was also the second best mark in school history. Nelson competed in the hammer throw as well and had a 45.49m distance.

The Flyers will next travel to nearby Miami (Ohio) on April 26 for the Redhawk Invitational.
