Final Results

OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's track and field team competed in its final event before the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships next week with the RedHawk Invitational.

"Today was a great day of performances in our final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 (Championship) meet," said head coach Jason Francis. "Leading the way for us today was Maya Pedersen, who ran two outstanding races, setting two school records, and winning the 100m and 200m. The team is ready to perform at a high level going into the A-10 meet."

Maya Pedersen had an career day, breaking two school records at the competition. The junior from Columbus, Ohio finished first overall in the 100m with a time of 11.84. That broke previous mark of 11.94 set by both Marquita Moss (1998) and Kaamilya Davis (1999). On top of that, Pedersen set a school record and finished first in the 200m with a time of 24.17. That topped current teammate Noelle Tazioli's time of 24.19 set in 2013.

The 100m time of Pedersen's was the second best mark in the Atlantic 10 this season while the 200m time was the top mark in the conference in 2014.

Katy Garcia set a personal best in the 100m hurdles, finishing with a mark of 15.78.

In the 400m dash, Mariah Curtis finished in 57.50, earning her second place and a new personal record.

Cassie Grandstaff also competed with Pedersen in the 100m with a time of 12.50.

Noelle Tazioli took fifth in the 200m with a time of 24.92. She also finished 11th in the 100m, posting a time of 12.37.

In the 400m hurdles, Paige Yaeger finished second overall with a time of 1:04.09.

The field events also saw a number of personal records set.

In the long jump, Sydney Riethman hit 5.26m and finished 10^th.

Hanna Krizmanic set a new PR and a Top 5 mark all-time at Dayton with 3.83m in the pole vault. That earned her second place in the event and is the third-best height in the A-10 this year.

Katy Garcia and Juliana Lawniczak both tied for fourth in the high jump with marks of 1.61m.

Aly Weeman finished fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 54.02m.

The Flyers will now prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championships next weekend in Amherst, Mass.
