KENT, Ohio – Several Flyers ran personal best times at the Kent State Tune-Up Indoor Track and Field Invitational at the Kent State Fieldhouse.
Senior
Eric Gruenbacher took fifth place, out of 69 competitors, in the 5,000-meter run. He ran it eight seconds faster than his previous best, in a time of 14:53.03. That is the second fastest indoor 5,000-meter run in Flyer history. Only All-American Chris Lemon has run a faster time for the Flyers.
Senior
Tyler Roeth (4:24.32) and sophomore
Maxwell Roeske (4:40.46) both ran a personal best times in the one-mile run.
In the 3,000-meter run, freshmen
Kyle Lach (8:51.82) and
Hunter Johnston (8:54.87) both ran personal bests.
The team of
Matthew Krakora,
Michael Tymoski, Lach and Roeth took second place in the distance medley relay.
Dayton completed its indoor season at Kent State and will start its outdoor track season March 28-29 at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
