Full ReleaseNEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its men's soccer preseason poll on Tuesday and tabbed the University of Dayton to finish fourth overall.
The Flyers received 127 points, putting them in fourth behind A-10 favorites Saint Louis, last year's tournament champion George Mason, and NCAA tournament participant VCU. Each of those three teams received at least one first-place vote.
Dayton was picked ahead of A-10 newcomer Davidson, who was predicted to finish fifth. Duquesne, La Salle, Fordham, George Washington, Saint Joseph's, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and St. Bonaventure rounded out the poll.
The Atlantic 10 All-Conference Preseason teams were also announced and multiple Dayton student athletes were recognized.
Junior midfielder
Amass Amankona was named to the All-Conference team while freshmen
Dillon Nino and
Lance Gaspar were named to the All-Rookie team.
The Flyers open up the season this Saturday at 8 p.m. ET at Loyola Chicago.
