The Flyers again led 4-1 in the second frame but the two teams shared four ties before Turner's service ace put UD on top, 9-8. Dayton stretched its advantage to five, 15-10, off the strength of an Emmenecker service ace and the lead was six, 19-13, after an assisted block from Agu and Turner. A 3-0 spurt from the Flyers forced the Falcons into a timeout at 22-16 but a Bowling Green service error ended the set with Dayton ahead, 25-18, to even the match at two sets each.
Emmenecker started the third set off with a service ace as Dayton rattled off the first three points of the frame. Bowling Green scored five-straight points but senior Isolde Hannan put an end to the run with a kill and a Falcon attacking error evened the set at 5-5. Leading by two, 13-11, the Flyers stretched the lead to five, 16-11, and never looked back. Back-to-back kills from Loiars sealed the third-set win, 25-18, and Dayton took the 2-1 match lead.
In the deciding set, Dayton was up early, 4-3, when Bowling Green rattled off four consecutive points. The Flyers responded with three-straight points of their own to tie the set at 7-7 but the Falcons soon found themselves up three, 13-10. Down the stretch, a Flyer attacking error set the score at 21-19 in favor of the Falcons but a 4-1 UD rally put Dayton back on top for good. The Flyers held on for the 25-23 fourth-set victory to claim a 3-1 match win over the Falcons.
For the Falcons, Nicole Slimko had 19 kills and Madeline Garda got under a match-high 22 digs. BGSU's primary setter was Erica Fullencamp with 40 assists.
