DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team will be traveling to Statesboro, Georgia and playing in a tournament at Georgia Southern University this coming weekend. The Flyers were scheduled to travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to play in the 49er Invitational hosted by Charlotte, but that has been cancelled due to weather conditions.
Dayton (2-2) looks to pick back up where they left off two weeks ago, ending the weekend with a two game win streak at the Kennesaw Classic in Kennesaw, Georgia.  They did not play the weekend of February 13-15.
Freshman
Jaclyn Kweder had a stand out collegiate start for the Flyers going 6-for-12 at the plate over the first four games with a double and two RBI. Kweder also earned the first Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award of the season for February 2-8. Â
Senior
Natalie Mariano had a solid start for the Flyers, going 6-for-12 as well with one double, one home run, and three runs. Mariano currently leads the team with three RBI.
This weekend the Flyers will take on NC State, North Carolina, Bradley and Georgia Southern in the Eagle Classic. Dayton will play NC State at 12:30 and North Carolina at 2:30 on Friday, February 20. Â
The Flyers will then play NC State again on Saturday at 2:00. They will finish up the tournament on Sunday, February 22 when they face Bradley at 1:30 and Georgia Southern at 3:30.
