Box Score OXFORD, Ohio – Dayton softball fell 6-5 to Oakland during the second day of action at the Miami Invitational Saturday. The loss snaps a Flyer six-game winning streak and drops UD's overall record to 11-9. The Grizzlies, who had a bases-loaded, walk-off single in the seventh to claim the win, improve to 9-11 overall. Dayton out-hit Oakland 12-6, but left 10 baserunners stranded.
Several Flyers had solid outings despite the loss. Freshman pitcher
Manda Cash got the start for Dayton, striking out 10 in five innings of work. Freshman
Kailee Budicin continued her hot streak at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. She was one of five Flyers to double in this game. Senior

Jaclyn Kweder each went 2-for-4, while grad student
Jordan Jennings went 2-for-2. Snyder hit a double and a triple and notched two RBI. Kweder, Jennings and junior
Kathryn Hess each doubled as well.
The Flyers struck first with a three-run third inning. Mariano started the inning with a single up the middle, Kweder outran an infield single and Snyder hit them in with a triple down the right field line. Budicin's single plated

Oakland answered with two runs in the bottom of the third and fourth to take a 4-3 lead.
The Flyers reclaimed the lead in the fifth. Kweder led off the inning with a double and scored after Snyder put the ball in play. Junior Kirstin Bartlett pinch ran for Snyder and scored after Budicin's single to center field.
Oakland tied it up with a homerun in the fifth and closed out the game with a run in the seventh.
Dayton is back in action at the Miami Invitational Sunday at 3:45 p.m. vs. host Miami and 6 p.m. vs. North Dakota.
