DAYTON TRACK FINISHES GREGORY INVITATIONAL

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The University of Dayton women's track and field team had a pair of student athletes compete at the Gregory Invitational Thursday.

Senior Ashley DeMange and freshman Leah Frischmann competed in the pole vault at the event, which was held at North Central College in Illinois.

Both Flyers matched each other with jumps of 3.86m, taking second and third in the competition.

It was the best vault of the year for DeMange while Frischmann had a career outing.

"While we did not reach the qualifying height we were looking for today, it was still a season best for Ashley and a PR for Leah," said Head Coach Jason Francis. "A little disappointing that their season and Ashley's career is coming to an end, but it was nice to end on a positive meet."

The Flyers will now wait to see if they have athletes that qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Florida on May 28.
