Final Results

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Dayton women's track and field team had one student athlete still competing as senior Aly Weeman took part in the NCAA East Preliminary Round meet.

The Wooster, Ohio native finished 13th in the event, just outside of the qualifying spots for the national championships in June.

"Aly had one of her best if not her best throwing series of her career today," said Head Coach Jason Francis. "Finishing one spot out of qualifying is hard to swallow, but we had a great weekend."
 
Weeman's mark of 57.22m was just shy of the top 12 spots, but a strong performance nonetheless against a loaded field of competitors. Going into the last heat, she was in third place with what was her second-best throw of the year.

This season, Weeman was an all-conference performer and qualified for the NCAA East Prelims with the 26^th-best mark in the country. She also led the Atlantic 10 throughout the season and took the gold medal at the A-10 Championships.

That ends the season for Dayton Women's Track and Field after successful 2015 indoor and outdoor campaigns.
