DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton rowing team will begin practice Aug. 26 to prepare for its 2015 fall schedule and 2016 spring schedule which includes trips to Columbus; Cincinnati; Indianapolis; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Cherry Hill, New Jersey; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as a training trip to Florida.Â
The Flyers will also host a number of events throughout the season, kicking off with a Family Weekend event on Saturday, Sept. 19. The next is an Alumnae Weekend event on Saturday, Oct. 3.Â
The fall competition will begin with the Speakmon Memorial Regatta in Columbus, Ohio at Griggs Reservoir on Saturday, Oct. 10.Â
UD will host Ohio State in a scrimmage on Sunday, Oct. 25 on the Great Miami River, and close out the fall season at the Head of the Eagle in Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 31.Â
The rowing team will train in Florida the first week of January.Â
The first races of spring will be held March 26 in Zanesville, Ohio vs. Marietta and Duquesne. April 2 the Flyers will compete in the Cincinnati Regatta in the Queen City.
UD will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to compete for the Lubbers Cup April 9-10.Â
Dayton will once again race in the two-day SIRA Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tennessee starting April 16. This is the final warmup before the Atlantic 10 Championship held Saturday, May 7 in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Then the Flyers will travel to Philadelphia for the annual Abderdeen Dad Vail Regatta May 13-14.Â
The NCAA Rowing Championships will be held May 27-29.Â
