Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Dayton tennis teams put together an impressive debut to the 2015-16 season over the weekend at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate hosted by UD and Northern Kentucky University. Sophomore Marlys Bridgham won her flight in singles competition and partnered with Mandy Merchant to win their doubles flight as well. The doubles combination of Jade Kawamoto and Mattea Kilstofte also conquered their flight to give the Flyers three flight champions in the tournament.

WOMEN
-The three flight champions were tied for the most for a single team in the tournament.
-UD was the only women's team to win three flights.
-Bridgham won her singles flight in exciting fashion, taking the tiebreaker 1-0.
-Bridgham/Marchant lost just one set before the final match of their flight, which they won 7-6.
-Kilsofte/Kawamoto proved a formidable foe as well, winning all their matches 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

MEN
-After falling to the flight champion in the first round, Carsten Fisher battled all the way to the consolation final before matches were called.
-Simon Jayaram, Jordan Benjamin, and Lorenzo Rollhauser were all victorious in their first round matches.
-The combination of Fisher and Andy Druffel gave UD their lone doubles victory.

UP NEXT
The Flyer men get back to the courts Friday Sept. 25 when they open up the Purdue Invitational, while the women don't return to action until the University of Cincinnati Invitational Oct. 9-10.
