Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Dayton men's tennis team opened up the 2016 season with a hard-fought, 4-2 loss to #36-ranked Louisville at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Friday night.
Dayton took control of the match in the doubles portion thanks to
Zach Berry and
Carsten Fisher upsetting the #57-ranked pairing from Louisville, 6-4. Freshman duo
Jordan Benjamin and
Lorenzo Rollhauser also came up with a big victory by a 6-2 margin.
Benjamin continued his fine play in the singles set, winning in the number two slot 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. The Cardinals took control of the match in the singles portion, however, coming out on top in the five other matches.
NEXT UPUD returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. when they host Wright State University at the Five Seasons Sports Club. A pancake breakfast will begin at 10 a.m. for the first 50 fans in attendance.
