WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SIGNS SAM BREEN FOR 2017 CLASS

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's basketball team announced the signing of Sam Breen to the 2017 recruiting class.

Breen will come to Dayton after the completion of a stellar career at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The 6'2 guard is ranked No. 67 in the 2017 class by ESPN and 15th in her respective position nationally.

Breen is described as a face-up post player with a soft touch around the basket and three-point range. She earned Second Team All-State honors in 2015 and was named Class A Player of the Year in 2016.

Sam has a connection to the Dayton Basketball family, playing AAU basketball for Coach John Miller, who is Dayton men's basketball coach Archie Miller's father.

The Dayton coaching staff expressed their excitement on the addition of Sam Breen to the program.

"We are very excited to have Sam join our Flyer family," said head coach Shauna Green. "Her toughness and ability to score in a variety of ways fits our system perfectly. We can't wait to have her here in a Dayton uniform."
