#UDSB FALLS TO CARDINALS TO OPEN UP LOUISVILLE CLASSIC

Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Dayton softball team struggled in the opener of the Louisville Softball Classic on Friday night, falling to the University of Louisville 14-2 at Ulmer Stadium. 

Scoring Breakdown
Bottom 1st – Louisville got on the board immediately, taking advantage of a Dayton error and putting a pair of runs on the scoreboard to take a 2-0 lead.
Bottom 2nd – The Cardinals erupted for nine runs in the frame, with the highlight coming as a bases-clearing triple that gave U of L an 11-0 lead.
Bottom 4th – Louisville scored three more runs thanks to five hits to give the Cardinals a 14-0 advantage.
Top 5th – Freshman Lisa Tassi delivered a two-run single to put the Flyers on the board and bring the score to its final of 14-2.

Key Stats
Tassi upped her season average to .323 with her 1-for-3 showing and now has five RBIs on the season.

The 14 runs was the most allowed by a Dayton team since Feb. 21, 2014 when Western Michigan matched the feat.

Dayton returns to action on Saturday when it takes on No. 2 ranked Michigan at 2:30 p.m. The Flyers' second game of the day is against Jacksonville State at 4:30 p.m.
