DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team kicks off a busy week with a single home game against cross-town foe Wright State University on Tuesday, March 22 at 4 p.m at UD Softball Stadium.
UD and WSU will turn around and play the Raiders' home opener on Wednesday, March 23 at 5 p.m. from the WSU Softball Field.
SERIES PREVIEW• The University of Dayton softball team wraps up the season series with cross-town foe Wright State University with single games on Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23.
• Dayton enters the weekend with a 9-10 overall record after sweeping Akron in a double header on Sunday, March 20
• Wright State is 10-13 overall this year, also playing all 23 games away from home. The Raiders took two out of three against Big 10 competition over the weekend, downing Michigan State 3-1 and Indiana 4-1.
• Wright State will open its home season on Wednesday, March 23 with the finale of the season series with Dayton. Head Coach Lynn Curylo is in her sixth season at the helm for the Raiders.
WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON• The Flyers are batting .238 as a team with a .331 slugging percentage and a .315 on-base percentage. Dayton has 19 doubles on the season and six home runs in 19 games. Sophomore
Kailee Budicin has an outstanding .422 average to go along with seven RBIs.
• Dayton's pitching staff has combined for a team ERA of 2.81 with 99 strikeouts and 65 walks in 122 innings of work.
• Defensively, the Flyers have a fielding percentage of .965 with 19 errors and two double plays.
WHO TO WATCH - WRIGHT STATE• Wright State has an overall record of 10-13 on the season, winning two of their last three over the weekend at the Hoosier Classic. The two wins came against Big 10 opponents Michigan State and Indiana.
• The Raiders have a .273 team batting average, with Honnah Susor leading the way with a .356 mark. The sophomore leads the team with 12 runs scored and is leading the team with 11 RBIs.
• WSU's pitching has put up a respectable 2.41 ERA this season, with senior Montana Wear posting a team-best 1.77 mark and 21 strikeouts. Both Ashley Sharp and Ally Russell have a team-high four wins in the circle.
LAST MEETING• UD and WSU squared off earlier in the season, with the Raiders taking a 5-2 win at the Chattanooga Spring Classic.

Gabrielle Snyder went 2-for-3 and scored both of Dayton's runs in the losing effort.
SERIES HISTORY• Dayton and Wright State have a long history against one another, with the Raiders leading the all-time series 49-32-2.
• In the 2015 season, Dayton won two tightly-contested contests, 3-1 and 9-6.
• Snyder picked up the win in one of the decisions, while
Manda Cash picked up two of her NCAA-leading eight saves in the games.

Hannah DeSalvo and
Kayla Haberstich each put together 2-for-4 performances in the 9-6 victory on April 21.
WEATHER FORECAST• Temperatures in the 60's and partly cloudy skies are in the forecast for Dayton on Tuesday afternoon. The major factor for the mid-week games will be the wind gusts, expected to be over 20 mph.
LAST OUTING• Dayton swept a double header against Akron on Sunday, March 20 thanks to superb pitching and defense, winning Game One 5-0 and Game Two 1-0.

Manda Cash tossed a complete game shutout in Game One, striking out nine and allowing just three hits.

Hannah DeSalvo drove in three runs.
• In the nightcap, Dayton's lone run came from DeSalvo after she had doubled, moved to third on a groundout, and came around on an Akron error.
• In total, the Flyers played errorless ball in the field and the pitching staff struck out 12 in the two games.
