DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton is set to take on Ohio University in a mid-week double header Wednesday, April 20 with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium.

SERIES PREVIEW
Dayton comes into the matchup with a 20-15-1 record and sits in second place in the Atlantic 10 with a record of 9-2-1.

Ohio has an overall record of 25-16 but is just 7-7 in Mid-America Conference, having lost three of its last four games, all against conference opponents. Head coach Jodi Hermanck is in her eighth season leading the Bobcats.

WHO TO WATCH – DAYTON
Dayton's strength is found in the pitching circle, with the Flyers turning in a 1.90 ERA as a team, tops in the Atlantic 10 and eighth in the country. Leading the way for UD is junior Gabrielle Snyder who is ninth in the country with an ERA of 1.19, and sophomore Manda Cash, who is 18th with a 1.32 mark. Opponents are hitting just .195 off of Flyer pitching this season.

The Flyers come into the double dip hitting .232 as a team. They have two hitters over the .300 threshold in Snyder and senior Krista Gustafson, who are hitting .417 and .321 respectively. Snyder leads the team with 10 doubles on the season despite missing 10 games. 

Cash earned her fourth Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week award and on April 18 thanks to her outstanding performances against Ohio State and La Salle. She finished the week with 18 innings pitched and allowed just one earned run, striking out 26 and walking only three.

WHO TO WATCH – OHIO
OU comes into Wednesday's double header with a team batting average of .270, led by redshirt sophomore Taylor Saxton, who has an average of .406. There are four other Bobcats with averages over the .300 mark, with sophomore Mikayla Cooper hitting .359 and slugging a team-high nine home runs while driving in 32 runs.

Pitching has been the strength for Ohio on the season with a team ERA of just 2.09, led by Savannah Jo Dorsey with a 1.82 mark. The redshirt junior has won MAC pitcher of the week four times, collecting 18 wins on the season and leading the nation in strikeouts with 251.

WEATHER
Wednesday's weather in Dayton calls for a mix of clouds and sun early, then becoming cloudy later in the day and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70's.

SERIES INFORMATION
Dayton trails Ohio in the all-time series, going 6-18 against the Bobcats overall. OU took the lone game against UD in the 2015 season by a final score of 8-2.

In the game, current Flyer Gabrielle Snyder went 2-for-3 with a run scored and threw 4.2 innings on the mound. The right-hander gave up four earned runs and struck out three, taking the loss in the game.
