MASON, Ohio – The No. 9 seeded University of Dayton women's tennis team bowed out of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday morning, falling to No. 1 seed VCU at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
UD fell behind early, with VCU taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The Rams continued their strong play and completed a clean sweep by winning at No. 2, 3, and 4 singles.
Sophomore
Jackie Kawamoto was leading 6-3, 1-4 at No. 5 singles and junior
Mandy Marchant had a 6-4, 4-3 lead at No. 6 when VCU won the match.
The Flyers wrap up their season with a record of 15-10, the highest win total for a Dayton women's tennis team since the 2002 season.
